My best picture - 2nd highest English spire (next to Salisbury) seen through an Ogee Arch in the Cloisters. Another set of interesting misericords - a missing one recently replaced & donated by Norwich City Football Club featuring winning/losing supporters.

Side by side:- the Luftwaffe-bombed old and the magnificent new Cathedrals. The new spire is a fleche design (small and thin -  similar to Notre Dame) which enabled it to be lowered into place by helicopter.

David Wing - Leicester City Cup

Cynthia James - Chairman

Winners - Richard Smith (pictured) & Ray Wallace

Three Saints Chapels including St. Catherines. Legend has it she was to be tied to a wheel and tortured but it miraculously disintegrated upon her touch - thus the Catherine Wheel firework. Great excitement here with possible find of Richard 3rds remains - direct descendant found in London for DNA check.

The architect of many English Cathedrals was Augustus Pugin (who also designed the interior of the Houses of Parliament). This was considered one of the finest examples of his work.

My new-found fascination with misericords - almost pornographic here (amazing for a Cathedral). Must not upset the Ladies and Gentlemen of the bridge world with details - you'll just have to ask me.
