AGM Results 2012



The Annual General Meeting of the English Bridge Union took place on 3rd October in London.

Election of directors


Four candidates were nominated and have agreed to stand. As such, there was no need for an election for the eight positions available.
Directors elected:
Sally Bugden
Jerry Cope (newly elected)
Heather Dhondy
Jeremy Dhondy (re-elected)
Val Gibson 
Ron Millet (newly elected)
Ian Payn 
Andrew Petrie (re-elected)
There being no other candidates for the roles, the following remained in their positions:
Officers:
Sally Bugden - Chairman
Two candidates were nominated for the following roles. As such, there was no need for an election for the two positions available
Officers:
Jeremy Dhondy - Vice-Chairman
Andrew Petrie - Treasurer

Laws & Ethics Committee

Two nominations were received, for two places, so no election required:
Mike Amos (re-elected)
Jeremy Dhondy (re-elected)
Mr Amos and Mr Dhondy serve for a three year term of office, expiring in 2015.

Tournament Committee

Two nominations were received, for two places, so no election required:
Gillian Fawcett (newly elected)
Addis Page (re-elected)
Ms Fawcett and Mr Page serve for a three year term of office, expiring in 2015.

Selection Committee

Four nominations were received, for two places, so an election was required.
Congratulations to Andy Bowles and David Burn who serve for a three year term of office, expiring in 2015.

AGM 2011 results

The Annual General Meeting of the English Bridge Union took place on 5 October in London.

Three nominations were received, for three places, so no election required:
Brian Crack (re-elected)
Paul Hackett (re-elected)
Ian Payn (newly elected)

Mr Hackett and Mr Payn serve for a three year term of office, expiring in 2014, and Mr Crack for two years, expiring in 2013.

Selection Committee
Five nominations were received, for four places, so an election was required.

Congratulations to Tom Townsend, Simon Cochemé and Nick Smith who serve for a three year term of office, expiring in 2014, and Heather Bakhshi who serves for a one year term of office, expiring in 2012.

Two are required for a three year term of office expiring in 2014, and one for a two year term of office expiring in 2013.

Five nominations have been received for the four vacancies therefore an election will take place. The top three successful candidates will be elected for a three year term of office expiring in 2014; with the fourth successful candidate being elected for a one year term of office expiring in 2012.

AGM Results

As members may know, the Annual General Meeting of the English Bridge Union took place yesterday (Wednesday 6 October) in London.

Election of Directors
Eight positions are now subject to election each year since the Article changes passed by the shareholders on 1 July 2010. Eight candidates were nominated and agreed to stand. All were elected.

Jeremy Dhondy
Suzanne Gill
Michael Hill
Graham Jepson
Malcolm Oliver
Andrew Petrie

Thanks were given by the Chairman to retiring members: Alan Nelson, Jeff Morris and Martin Pool for all their work over the years whilst on the Board.

There being no other candidates for the roles, the following remained in their positions:

Chairman - Sally Bugden
Vice Chairman - Andrew Petrie
Treasurer - Michael Hill

Laws & Ethics Committee
Three nominations were received for the three vacancies and thus there was no need for an election:
Frances Hinden
Neil Morley
Tim Rees

Miss Hinden and Mr Morley will be re-elected, and Mr Rees elected, for a three-year term of office expiring in 2013.

Mrs Curtis, Mr Mason and Mr Petrie will be re-elected for a further three-year term of office expiring in 2013.

As members may know, the Annual General Meeting of the English Bridge Union is taking place today (Wednesday October 7th) in London.

The election results were announced at 3.30 p.m. and they were as follows:-

AGM Results - 2007

Annual General Meeting of the English Bridge Union

As members may know, the Annual General Meeting of the English Bridge Union took place on Wednesday October 3rd in London.

The election results were announced at 2.00 p.m. and they were as follows:-

Andrew Petrie was nominated but just missed out on being elected with 42 votes.

After that vote was complete there was another vote for the three Officers of the EBU and the result was as follows:-
